MADE LONDON – St Mary’s is our new tabletop show for Christmas. This is a stripped back, pared down, table top selling event, enabling the quality and diversity of the designer / makers’ work to be simply and honestly showcased in the beautiful and characterful setting of St Mary’s Church Bryanston Square, Marylebone.
The show is a perfect opportunity to buy Christmas presents direct from some of the best makers in the country – in a beautiful location right in the heart of the West End.
We are thrilled to present our first Makers:
Abby’s influences and inspirations are broad and eclectic, from Ancient European jewellery to African and Asian adornment and art.
Drawn to the traditional time honoured jewellery techniques such as forging, chain making and gem setting, Abby combines silver and gold with vibrant natural gemstones to create small collections and one off pieces.
Alice and Lesley Jewellery – Alice Portnoy
Alice works in silver, gold and semi-precious stones. Her work is organic and inspired by such things as pattern in nature and ethnic textile design and pattern. Alice is interested in surface texture and often work develops out of mark making and surface treatment. She enjoys processes where the outcome is uncertain. Currently Alice is exploring the effects of etching and the mark making this involves.
Amy Keeper Jewellery
Amy’s collection was originally inspired by Victorian scientific instruments, and a spyglass from a children’s story, capturing the magic of these objects in her jewellery. The collection evolved with a more pronounced use of semi-precious stones, juxtaposing raw and polished stones, celebrating the full potential of their natural beauty.
Angela Ibbs Mosaics
Unique hand cut mosaics jewellery and interior pieces, created with iridescent glass, vintage ceramics and Italian millefiori. Inspired by nature and human form through folk art and style movements, creating decorative and attractive mosaics to wear and for the home.
My work is contemporary encompassing the use of silver, gold and enamel. I use texture and enamel to enhance the shapes of my pieces. Enamel is a very effective method of introducing colour.
